Origami Chatterbox

Origami Chatterbox is a free, NQF-aligned Art & Craft activity for ages 7 to 12. It includes a learning intention, a materials list, step-by-step instructions and framework links.

Learning intention

This experience supports children to follow a sequence of steps to solve a problem, and to interact with others through play.

You'll need

• A4 paper trimmed to a square
• Coloured pens or pencils

How to do it

1. Make a square from A4 paper by folding one corner across and trimming the excess.
2. Fold all four corners into the centre, turn over, and fold the corners in again.
3. Fold in half and work fingers into the four pockets to open the chatterbox.
4. Children decorate the flaps with colours, numbers and messages, then play in pairs.
