Fluffy Slime

Fluffy Slime is a free, NQF-aligned Sensory & Messy Play activity for ages 7 to 12. It includes a learning intention, a materials list, step-by-step instructions and framework links.

Learning intention

This experience supports children to hypothesise about cause-and-effect and to describe and compare what they observe.

You'll need

• ⅔ cup white glue
• ½ tsp baking powder
• ¼ cup water
• 2-3 cups shaving cream
• 1.5 tbsp contact lens solution
• Food colouring

How to do it

1. Combine the glue, water and baking powder in a bowl.
2. Fold in the shaving cream - the more you add, the fluffier the slime.
3. Add colouring, then stir in the contact lens solution a little at a time.
4. Knead until light and cloud-like. Compare the texture with classic slime.
