Sport-Themed Painting is a free, NQF-aligned Sport & Active Games activity for ages 5 to 10. It includes a learning intention, a materials list, step-by-step instructions and framework links.

Learning intention

This experience supports children to transfer their interests into a new context and to express ideas through media.

You'll need

• Paper
• Paint
• Reference pictures of sport scenes

How to do it

1. Talk with children about their favourite sport or player.
2. Children paint a sport-themed scene - a pitch, a player, or themselves playing.
3. Combine the painting with a short kick-around outside to link art and movement.
4. Display the finished artwork in the active-play area.
