Learning intention
This experience supports children to exercise agency in child-led play and to develop a connection with the environment.
You'll need
- A sandpit or garden bed
- Sticks, leaves, rocks
- Water
How to do it
- Children use found materials to build a small garden in the sandpit.
- They can add water to create a little stream running through it.
- Encourage them to plan paths, hills and plant areas.
- A free, open-ended experience driven entirely by the children.
