Recycled Robots

Recycled Robots is a free, NQF-aligned Construction & STEM activity for ages 5 to 12. It includes a learning intention, a materials list, step-by-step instructions and framework links.

Learning intention

This experience supports children to use imagination to create and to reuse materials with respect for the environment.

You'll need

• Recycled boxes, lids and tubes
• Tape and glue
• Markers
• Printed robot pictures for inspiration

How to do it

1. Show some robot pictures to spark ideas.
2. Children select recycled materials and plan their robot's shape.
3. They join the pieces into a standing or sitting robot.
4. Children name their robot and describe what it does.
