Learning intention
This experience supports children to investigate cause-and-effect and to transfer their ideas to a new material.
You'll need
- A magnetic tray or board
- Sticks and adhesive putty
- Marbles
- A timer
How to do it
- Children build a marble run on the tray using magnets or sticks and putty.
- They time how long the marble takes to travel from top to bottom.
- Adjust the angles to make the run slower or faster.
- Extend by adding water and comparing how it flows down the same course.
