Learning intention

This experience supports children to express ideas creatively and to develop coordination through controlled movement.

You'll need

• Toy cars
• A flat container or tray
• Paint in several colours
• Paper

How to do it

1. Place a sheet of paper into the bottom of the container.
2. Add a few dollops of different coloured paint to the paper.
3. Children drive the cars through the paint and across the paper to create tyre tracks.
4. Compare the marks made by different wheel types and talk about fast versus slow movements.
