Learning intention

This experience supports children to show respect for the environment and to use imagination.

You'll need

• A large open area or sandpit
• Natural materials (sticks, leaves, rocks)

How to do it

1. Highlight a large open space and place natural materials around it.
2. Children use the sticks, leaves and rocks to build their own miniature bush garden.
3. Encourage them to add paths, walls and features.
4. Use rich language to describe the landscapes they create.
