Bubble Wrap Painting is a free, NQF-aligned Art & Craft activity for ages 5 to 12. It includes a learning intention, a materials list, step-by-step instructions and framework links.
Learning intention
This experience supports children to explore colour and texture, and to investigate how different materials create different prints.
You'll need
- Bubble wrap (a mix of large and small bubbles)
- Masking tape
- Paint brushes and foam rollers
- Paint in shallow trays
- Paper
How to do it
- Pour the paint into shallow trays for rolling, or set out brushes.
- Give each child a piece of bubble wrap and let them roll or brush paint across the bubbled side.
- Press the painted bubble wrap face-down onto paper, then peel it back to reveal the print.
- Encourage children to layer colours and compare the patterns the different bubble sizes make.
